Welcome to Luminet's web site.  When I founded Luminet in 1993, it was with a simple mission: "to provide small and midsize companies the best available accounting & business software systems available that best fits the customer's need and budget."   Since 1993, a lot has changed - but our mission remains the same.

We know how frustrating it can be to implement a good business information system.  With limited time and a limited budget, it is difficult to choose from the hundreds of software options available today and even more difficult to choose the right firm to implement the system. 

While the basics of accounting has not changed, how we enter, retrieve, and analyze data has changed drastically in the last ten years.  Today, we have high-speed internet connections and  high-speed data retrieval systems. We now have terms like "data warehousing" and "OLAP" and other esoteric terms that mean little to most business professionals.

Business professionals want to know:  Where do I stand today?  What is my order backlog, inventory, and receivables?  Based on current orders, what's my projected cash flow?  How many of the quotes outstanding are likely to become orders?  Do I have enough inventory on order to fulfill orders coming in during the busy season?  

Many times, smaller business just can't get to critical information because they just don't have the time or expertise to implement a good financial and business data system.  Fortunately, business & accounting information systems today are becoming more integrated.  Quotes can become Orders which generate purchase orders for inventory - all automatically with little human intervention.
